Stretching my Natural Hair: Part 1

Hey Curlies,

I teased the photo below on social media of my hair in a stretched state and I've gotten lots of questions about exactly how I've been keeping my hair stretched.

Stretched natural hair

This is a very old twistout from earlier this week. I used two products from Urbanaire Gypsy to create my twists and let them dry overnight. Here were my results:

While wearing the twistout I continued to stretch my hair overnight by using the banding method. This uses several elastic hair ties on the length of your hair in order to allow the hair to stretch out.

For this style I simply put my hair into a ponytail, then banded the rest of the hair. I tied a scarf on my edges and went to bed.

So this is how I've been wearing my hair for the past couple of days:

This is just part one! I'll be back later this week with another way to stretch your natural hair. Stay tuned!
