Natural Hair: Wash Day and Banding Style

Hey Curlies,

I washed my hair a few days ago using my usual...Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil shampoo and conditioned with TRESemme Naturals Conditioner, but that's not the point of this post. I really waned to show you all how you can create a style while also stretching and air drying your hair.

I used to band my hair all of the time. This process involves using hair ties to extend the length of your hair in order to dry your hair in a stretched state. Over time I ended up losing all of my hair ties (similar to bobby pins...I mean where do those things walk off to? Lol) so I got a chance to grab a couple of packs at the dollar store.

I used about 20 bands on my entire head. If you are still confused about how this works, check out the photos below:

After washing and detangling my hair with a moisturizer, I split my hair into about 6-8 sections to prepare to band. This involves wrapping multiple hair ties around a section to cover the entire length of hair.

I then let my hair air dry over night and put a scarf on my edges. The next day, I took out the hair ties and was left with a cute crimped look.

Here was the final look:

I planned on twisting my hair later on that day, but got busy so no twists this week, but next week for sure!
