What it contains:

What it claims to do:
Detangle and add moisture to hair
Uses:
As a instant conditioner, deep conditioner or leave-in conditioner
My Review:
This conditioner is very creamy, thick and has great slip to it. Although this product is very thick, it did not seem to weigh my hair down at all. The product had a very light scent. This is definitely a conditioner that can be used daily after a wash or as a co-wash. One thing that I do like about this product is that the ingredients aren't questionable. The product includes organic and natural ingredients such as rosemary, lavender, mango, grapefruit and soy protein. If you are protein sensitive, be sure to be careful with products that contain protein. This product usually cost about $8 online or at any hair salon, but you can usually find it at your local Marshalls or TJ Maxx for $13 in a bottle double the size. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5.

Unrefined butyrosermum parkii (Shea Butter), cocos nucifera (Coconut) oil, prunus dulcis (Almond) oil, olea europaea (Olive) oil, persea gratissima (Avocado) oil, castor (Ricinus Communis) seed oil, vitis vinifera (Grape) seed oil, brassica campestris (Rapeseed) oil, lavandula officinalis (Lavender) oil, rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) oil, salvia sclarea (Clary Sage) oil, mentha piperita (Peppermint) oil extract, vegetable glycerin and Love!
What it claims to do:
Help with hair growth promotion
Uses:
To deep condition hair and to lock in moisture
My Review:
When I first opened this product I noticed that the main ingredient is Shea Butter and then I proceeded to read the directions because just by the name of the product Vintage I could not tell how this product should be used. The packaging of this product is very creative and artistic. It can be used as a deep condition or a way to lock in moisture. I am pretty sure that with so much Shea Butter in the product, using this as a deep condition would not be the best idea for my hair. Instead, I decided to use this as a sealer. Using another product created with water and oils, I used Vintage to lock in the moisture restored to my hair. A couple of days later, I removed my twists that I had created with the product and my hair felt extremely moisturized. I had only spritzed my hair a couple of times during the week with a water mix and my hair still turned out really well.
What it Contains:
.Aqua (Water), Propylene Glycol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit, PEG-150 Distearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Glycerin, Parfum (Fragrance), Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Cyclopentasiloxane, Phenyl Trimethicone, Lanolin Oil, Polyquaternium-37, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Acrylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride/Acrylamide Copolymer, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Stearalkonium Chloride, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, d-Limonene, Hexyl cinnamic aldehyde, Linalool, Amyl cinnamic aldehyde, Lilial,Benzyl alcohol, Citronellol, Hydroxycitronellal, Cinnamic alcohol, 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, 2-Methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, CI 17200 (Red 33), CI 19140 (Yellow)
What it claims to do:
Soften hair, restore moisture balance, and eliminate knots and tangles
Uses:
As a leave-in conditioner and detangler
My Review:
Let me just start off by saying that this is by far one of my favorite detanglers. I only have a few and this product has definitely been added to the list. It really does help detangle hair very easily. I have really tight curls, especially after it has been wet, and the comb glides though it. I apply it to my hair in small sections and begin my session. I really like that it has Shea butter and olive oil in it. So not only does it detangle hair, it is also a good leave in conditioner because it leaves lots of moisture. This product is also free of sulfates, parabens, and mineral oil. If you are protein sensitive, no worries, this product is free of proteins.
It has sort of a tropical smell to it and has a very lightweight consistency. I've only used about 1/3 of the bottle although I've used it several times. Overall, I give this product 5 out of 5.
This product can be purchased at your local beauty supply store, organicstherapies.com orcurlmart.com for abot $10.
I was introduced to this product line a few months ago and I have been talking about it all over my site and on some of my videos. This line of products is called O.B.I Natural Hair Care and they sell anything from sprays, to shampoos and conditioners to stylers. I will be reviewing three of their products for you.
Curl Hydration Spray
What it Contains:
Purified Water (Aqua), Vegetable Glycerin, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Rose Oil, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Soybean Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate, Triethanolamine, Fragrance (Parfum).
What it claims to do:
Hydrate hair and scalp
Uses:
To moisturize hair, scalp and as a detangler
My Review:
I've been using this product since the minute I got it. Right before using for the first time, I checked the ingredient list and I was very impressed. It contained lots of the oils that I include in my every day regimen. The product comes in a plastic spray bottle for easy distribution. I've been using this product for my mini twist. I use a couple of sprays every morning and night before bed and it keeps the ends of my hair from becoming dry and brittle. The smell of this product isn't very strong, and that shows the use of natural ingredients. I've been using this product for over a month and a half, everyday, and I have not experienced any buildup. Overall, I give this product a 5 out of 5 for maintaining hair moisture.
Curl Moisture Cream
What it Contains:
Purified Water (Aqua), Behentrimonium Methosulfate and Cetearyl Alcohol, Vitis vinfera (Grape seed) Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Argania spinosa (Argan) oil, Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate, Arctium lappa (Burdock Root), Lavandula officinalis (Lavender) Oil, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Glycine soya (Soybean) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Oil, Triethanolamine, Fragrance (Parfum).
What it claims to do:
Moisturize hair while promoting healthy hair growth
Uses:
Use on wet or dry hair as a styler or to seal in moisture
My Review:
I first used this product about 3 weeks ago when I created my second twist n curl style(pic below). When styling I used 90 percent of this product and 10 percent of aloe vera gel.
The next day my hair came out very soft and smooth. The style lasted for about four to five days. The product comes in a plastic jar and smells a bit like lavender. I noticed that this texture of the product isn't as smooth as I hoped, so it didn't distribute as well, in my opinion. I feel like it just needed to be whipped up a few more minutes and it would have been the perfect texture. I like that the product isn't heavy and doesn't weigh hair down. Overall, I give this product a 4 out of 5.
Curl Enhancing Custard
What it Contains:
Purified water (Aqua), Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Vitis vinfera (Grape seed) Oil, Argania spinosa (Argan) Oil, Carbomer, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Vegetable Glycerin, Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate, Triethanolamine, Xantham Gum, Fragrance.
What it claims to do:
Hydrate and add shine to hair
Uses:
As a styler
My Review:
At first glance of this product, it reminds me of vanilla pudding. The texture is very similar. It moves like pudding and the consistency is very close to a pudding and it smells of something fresh, hard to explain, but I enjoy the smell. I have used this product to smooth down ponytails and while styling a family member's hair. Both times that this product has been used as been very good. I would like to use this product in the summer to experiment with a wash and go style. Since it is now the middle of the winter, I was unable to do that, but I will save it and keep it in mind when that season comes again.I will have an updated review. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5.

Honey I'm Strong Conditioner
What it Contains:
Water/Eau, Stearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Cetyl Alcohol, Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Honey/Miel, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract, Fragrance/Parfum, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Blue 1, Yellow 5, Red 33.
What it claims to do:
Make hair 10xs stronger in just one use
Uses:
To condition hair after shampooing or as a co-wash
My Review:
I was really impressed by this conditioner. It smells really good, the honey stands out. It doesn't have the stickiness of honey which is a plus and has the texture of your regular ordinary conditioner. It also contains no sulfates, paraben or protein. It would be perfect for this time of year when it is cold outside and our hair is lacking moisture. The slip in this product is great! If a conditioner doesn't have a texture that will glide on to my hair easily, I will probably dismiss it immediately. This product was very easily distributed on to my curls. My hair felt very soft and moisturized after rinsing. The best part is that an orignial sized bottle of this product is only about $3! Overall, I give this product a 5 out of 5 for being an inexpensive, protein-free product.
Honey I'm Strong Shampoo
What it Contains:
Water/Eau, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycol Distearate, Dimethicone, Sodium Citrate, Cocamide Mea, Sodium Xylenesulfonate, Fragrance/Parfum, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Polyquaternium-6, Honey/Miel, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Blue 1, Yellow 5, Red 33.
What it claims to do:
Make hair 10xs stronger in just one use and repair the outer layer of hair
Uses:
To cleanse hair before conditioning
My Review:
I did like this shampoo, but I will say that there was nothing spectacular about it beside the smell. It smells amazing! It did cleanse my hair really well leaving no buildup and I only washed once. It served its purpose and it takes a lot for me to be impressed with any shampoo. I would buy this product again. Overall, I give this product a 4 out of 5 for being very inexpensive at $3 and acting as a great cleanser.

Tames frizz and add lots of shine
What it contains:
Juniperus Virginiana (Cedarwood Oil), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary Extract), Cyclomethicone, Benzophenone-3, Dimethiconol, Octyl Methoxycinnamate
Uses:
As a finishing polish
My Review:
I am not usually the one who uses serums and I told myself that I would begin experimenting with them. Upon appearance, this product comes in a glass bottle and is clear as most serums are. On top is an attached pump for distribution. The texture and consistency of the product is a bit thicker than most serums. One pump sends out a good amount of product. Although the consistency is a lot thicker, it does apply to hair easily. I was afraid of this product applying in a sticky manner, but it is in no way sticky at all, nor does it leave a residue.
This product contains an oil called cedarwood which is known for controlling dandruff, stimulating hair growth and reducing hair loss. The product also protects from UV rays with a hint of rosemary as its second ingredient. As far as being true to the title, I did notice a shine increase when using this product. The shine increase wasn't extraordinary, but it was noticeable. Overall, I give this product a 5 out of 5 for great ingredients and shine.

DI Water, PVP/VA Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Laureth 23, Glycerin, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance, Polyquaternium 10
What it claims to do:
Prevent dry and frizzy hair
Uses:
To hold curls/styles in place-wash n go, twist or braid outs
My Review:
My very first time using this product was a little over a week ago when I created a simple ponytail. I noticed that the product seemed to have a slight hold to it so I began to experiment with it further. On my latest style, the twist n curl, I used this product to create my twist with and it contributed to the great hold that I got. I do not recall an actual smell from this product, and the texture is water-based. It is not by any means a heavy product, in fact it is the exact opposite. I imagine that this product would also work well with a wash n go style. I am really curious of the results for that style, but it is winter where I live so I will be saving it for the summer. Overall, I give this product a 4 out of 5.

What it contains:
DI Water, Dicetyldimonium Chloride, Sunflower Extract, Chamomile Extract, Aloe Leaf Extract, Calendula Flower Extract, Isocetheth-20, Fragrance, Panthenol, Polyquaternium-7, Silk Amino Acids, Sodium Pca, Propylene Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Benzophenone-4, Phenoxyethanol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Lactic Acid, Disodium Edta.
What it claims to do:
Detangle and maintain the PH balance of hair
Uses:
To detangle hair
My Review:
My first time using this product was also when creating the twist n curl style.I did notice that this product contains the extracts of aloe and sunflower, which are both really good for hair. The product comes with a spray pump, which was different to me since I am used to detanlgers that come in a flip top bottle. The spray top does help distribute this product evenly. The slip in this detangler does help combat tangles and cuts down on detangling time, which can be horrible. I also do not recall I strong smell with this product. Overall I give this detangler a 4 out of 5.

(From sfrbeauty.com)
Uses:
To cleanse hair
My Review:
The name of this shampoo really tells it all! It is very silky and applies to hair very easily. The shampoo is a milky color and is not by any means heavy. The formula is very light and smells of a soft perfume. I did not experience dry hair after rinsing. I also only focused on my scalp when cleansing and my hair is indeed clean. The shampoo contains silk amino acids which translates into protein. This is the only reason why I will not use this for every wash, but it will definitely be one of my go-to products.
Overall, I give this product a 5 out of 5 for being a great cleanser without dry, brittle hair after use.
Silk Leave-in Conditioner:
What it contains:

Silk Leave-in Conditioner leaves your hair feeling clean, shiny and soft.
(From sfrbeauty.com)
Uses:
As a leave-in conditioner. Used after shampooing or daily during styling
My reviews:
I have to say that this was my favorite product of the Curly Hair Solutions line. This product has the same soft perfume smell as the shampoo did and has tons of slip! This product really impressed me. The formula is very light-weight and applies as easy as silk. I does not leave a residue. The very first time I used this product was right before I washed my hair. I applied a small amount to my twist and I was like "okay, I'm liking this." Now that I have used it again with the entire line, it works every better.
I had no trouble detangling my hair and styling. Overall, I give this product a 5 out of 5 for having great slip and smooth application to curls.
What it claims to do:
Remove knots and tangles from wavy, curly and kinky hair textures
What it contains:
Organic mango extract, organic slipper elm, organic marshmallow root, organic lemongrass, cetyl alcohol, behentrimonium methosulfate, citric acid, phenoxyethanol and natural fragrance.
Uses:
As a detangler and leave-in conditioner
My Review:
This past summer, I went back and forth on whether or not I should purchase this product. I knew that the ingredients were all natural and would really agree with my hair, but I could not get over the price. I was afraid that if I purchased it and didn't like it, I would be very upset. Boy was I wrong! This product surprised me. I like the fact that it can be used as a leave-in conditioner and detangler. For a leave-in conditioner it has lots of slip, something you would see in a normal rinse-out conditioner. This makes it easy to detangle.
The product also smells like fruit and has a bit of thicker consistency than regular leave-in conditioners. The only two complaints that I have are the price and the amount given for price. If I am paying $12-$16 for a product, I would expect to have more, but the ingredients in the product is what you are paying for.
I will say that with this product and the help of the others, my curls were very defined. Overall I give this product a 4 out of 5 for being a great detangler and excellent ingredients.
What it claims to do:
Nourishes hair and scalp with the use of multivitamins
What it contains:
Water,Wheat germ, Indian hemp, Olive oil, Aloe Vera, Vitamins A,D, and E
Uses:
Spray directly on to hair and scalp. Used on loose hair or braids, twists and locs.
My Review:
From the jump, I was really impressed that this product contained no petroleum or mineral oil, only vitamins. It also contains wheat germ as it's second ingredient which is a fantastic natural oil. I've been using this to refresh my braids for the last couple of days and I really like it. The mist is really light and does not heavily coat the strands. I only used a few sprays and that was good enough. One thing that really got my attention is the smell. It smells fabulous! You all know that if I can't get with the smell, it's a no-go from the jump, but this product smells great. It reminds me of a fruit salad. Just a mix of different fruity smells. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5 for being a great product for those with braids, twists and locs.
I got a special gift in the mail a while ago and I think it's so adorable!
The head band is from Lilla Rose which sells tons of hair accessories including hair clips, bands, pins and sticks. I know a woman by the name of Renee who is a consultant with the company.
My Review:
I really like this headband and when I was approached with this product, I thought, why not? I looked at several of their accessories and the head bands suit me most because I would wear them more than any other accessory. I really like the fact that the head band is beaded, which caught my attention. The beads come in different shades of brown and are very detailed.
Another thing I liked is that the back piece of the head band is elastic and adjustable. It's very hard for me to fall in love with hair accessories that hurt. I wore it and got lots of compliments on it. Most of all, I did not have a headache by the end of the day.
Overall, I give this product a 5 out of 5 for being both stylish and comfortable. If you are looking for elegant hair accessories for special events or even everyday wear, you should check out Lilla Rose. To purchase this product, click here. I actually found this shampoo on a product swap table when I attended National Natural Hair Meetup Day. I saw that it said the word "Biotin" so I knew that it was good stuff.
What it claims to do:
Invigorate the scalp and strengthen the hair shaft
What it contains:
Deionized Water, Biotin, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Peppermint Oil, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Niacin, Folic Acid, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Organic Essential Oil, Jojoba Oil, Inositol, Barley Extract, Sodium Myreth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut Oil), Octyl Dimethyl Paba, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Botanical Fragrance.
Uses:
Used to cleanse the scalp and hair
My Review:
I took this shampoo with me on my trip to the Bahamas because I wanted to try something new. I do like that this product contains no artificial colors and sulfates. It also is PH balanced as well as paraben free. On the front of the bottle, it also says that it has natural and organic ingredients.
When massaging this product into your scalp, you can definitely smell the peppermint which seems to provide a tingling sensation. I noticed that it only takes a small amount of cleanse your hair. I shampooed only once and it was enough. I will say be careful of getting this product anywhere else but your hair, it dripped in my eye and it was almost all over for me haha.
It left my hair feeling very soft and clean. I also did not experience that "dry, brittle feeling" after the final rinse, just soft, clean hair. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5 for providing a clean scalp without the use of harsh chemicals.
I just realized that I do not have an "official" product review on one of my favorite products. I first introduced this product when I big chopped last year, but it wasn't through enough.
What it contains:
Deionized Water , Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) , Cocos Nucifera Oil (Coconut) , Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil , Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado) , Vegetable Glycerin , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract , Silk Protein , Ammonium Salt , Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil (Neem) , Daucus Carota Sativa Seed Oil (Carrot) , Sorbitol Esters , Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B-5) , Caprylyl Glycol , Essential Oil Blend , Lonicera Caprifolium Flower and Lonicera Japonica Flower Extract (Honeysuckle and Japanese Honeysuckle) , Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
What it claims to do:
Condition hair while adding shine and body
Uses:
As a moisturizer and leave-in conditioner
My Review:
I've been using this product for a little over a year so you know that it is one of my staples. I first heard about it while speaking with other naturals in the community and heard wonderful things about it. I love that it has some of the most important ingredients key for hair growth, including: Coconut oil, Silk Protein, and Neem Oil. It is also all organic.
The smell of the product is definitely a whiff of coconut oil and the texture is somewhat like cake icing. It's soft and fluffy. I've been using this as a moisturizer as well as to twist with. My twists last for days as well as my twist-outs because it has a good hold. This product does have coconut oil and silk protein in it, so if you are protein sensitive, be careful. Some people have also used this product as a leave-in, which I haven't tried, but heard it was great.
Overall I definitely give this product a 5 out of 5 for creating soft, and defined twists and twist-outs.
People always ask me about this product in my videos and where can they buy it. It can be purchased at either Walgreens or Target. Walgreens has sales on this item often.
What it claims to do:
Clean and moisturize hair while soothing the scalp and preventing breakage
What it contains:
Artesian Water, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Taurate, PEG 150 Distearate, Polyquat 10, Menthol, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Polysorbate 20, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Fragrance, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinine
Uses:
Mainly used as an instant conditioner, but can be used as a deep conditioner
My Review:
I probably would have never tried this product if it wasn't for my monthly CurlKit. It was one of the full sized items in the kit so it definitely caught my attention. The bottle is designed very sophisticated. To be honest, I do not know that much about Abyssinian oil, but I do know that it is easily absorbed into the scalp and helps the hair reflect its natural light.
I was really excited to see Tea Tree Oil in this product because it is great for dry and itchy scalp. As soon as you open this product you can instantly smell the Tea Tree Oil. The smell is very powerful, but once applied to the hair, it isn't overbearing.
Once I wet my hair, I only did one wash with this product and my scalp was very clean and soft. Usually it takes my hair about two washes to become clean enough, but the oils left my scalp very soothed and clean. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5 for simply doing it's job. The added Tea Tree Oil is what creates the "clean scalp" feeling. Thanks U R Curly!
I finally found a gel that caught my attention. You all know that I'm not a big fan of gel because of the junk that's in it, but I found one that I really like.
What it Claims to do:
Smooth the hair line
What it Contains:
Water, Ceteareth-25, Glycerin, Oleth-5, PEG-20 Hydrogenated Lanolin, MIneral Oil, Fragrance, Olea Europea (Olive) Fruit OIl, DMDM Hydantoin, Hydrolyzed Silk Protein, Iodopropynl Butylcarbamate, FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Blue #1.
Uses:
Used to slick and hold down edges
My Review:
Like I said, I'm not a huge fan of gels, but I do like this one. I actually won this for my June Curlkitunboxing video. I had never heard of the product, but I figured I'd give it a try. One thing that stuck me as a positive note is that the gel contains no alcohol and is Paraben free. Lots of gels contain alcohols that dry out the hair and cause breakage. I used this product to slick my hair back while I was wearing a puff and I had never seen my edges lay that flat since I've been natural. Aloe Vera gel gives a great hold, but doesn't have the shine effect that this product has.The effect lasted all day which kept my style in place.
When you open the jar you can smell a little of the olive oil and it has a consistency of a paste. It really does have a strong hold. This product is definitely on my list of approved gels. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5 for having a great hold and shine while being alcohol free.
I haven't seen this product in stores. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. If you are interested in this product, visit your local drugstore. You can also order from Ebay and Amazon.

What it claims to do:
Provide moisture and tame frizz
What it contains:
water, cetearyl alcohol, polyquaternium-44, cetrimonium chloride, dimethiconol, ceteareth-20, hydrolyzed wheat protein, panthenol, benzophenone-4, tocopheryl acetate, hydroxypropyltrimonium hydrolyzed wheat protein, quaternium-15, parfum, sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, C11-15 seo-pareth-12, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, ethylparaben, butylparaben, propylparaben, isobutylparaben, sodium benzoate, benzyl salicylate, hexyl cinnamal, limonene
Uses:
Instant or deep conditioner
My Review:
Like I said before, I've been using this product for about 3 weeks and I do create new uses for it. So far, I've used it as an instant conditioner and a leave in. One thing that I really like about this product is that it contains argan oil and honey. It also does not contain sulfates, parabens, phthalates, or mineral oil. Since I began washing my hair in sections, I am always on the lookout for products that are good for detangling. This product is defeintely one that helps out in this area. It smells really sweet like a candy and the tangles fall out. The texture isn't really thick or thin so I think this would be great for those who have a medium thickness or more. As I rinsed the conditioner out it felt very soft. As a leave in, I used this when I went swimming once and and once after washing. It did not leave a waxy residue nor did my hair flake after a couple of days. I give this product a 4 out of 5 for being a great detangler.
See how I used this conditioner on a swim day
I actually won this product through a giveaway and I've been using it for about 2 weeks now. One thing that I really love about it is that it is made with all natural products and I actually can pronounce them all. Here are the details.
What it claims to do:
Conditions and moisturizes hair will defining curls, texture boost and shine
What it contains:
Shea butter infused with orange peel,Hibiscus Flower, Aloe Butter, Aloe Vera gel,Glycerin, Jojoba oil,Castor oil, Hemp seed oil, Essential oils and vitamin E
Uses:
I used this product to twist my hair and on my hairline and nape area
My Review:
The first thing I noticed about this product is the texture. It reminds me exactly of foam or cake icing and I love it. This means that the product is very light weight. The smell reminds me of oranges and shea butter. I honestly can't get over it's texture and consistency. I really wonder how they make this product. I used this product to twist on freshly washed hair and they left my twists soft and shiny. The texture also helped when it came to moisturizing my ends. I did not feel as if I had to drown my hair in product. A little goes a long way. I simply dipped my finger in and used what was taken and applied. No need for scooping out tons to achieve great results.Overall, I definitely give this product a 5 out of 5 because it's great smell and texture makes applying much more easier. This will be a staple.!

Moisturize hair through the use of a light weight conditioning spray
What it's made of:
Aloe vera, distilled water, organic herbs, vegetable glycerin, essential oils, vitamin E
Uses:

My review:
I really am in love with this spray. Long ago when I wore kinky twists, I used my own spray bottle mix with Tea Tree oil and water. Since then there is only one other hair spray that I have used. This spray is made with aloe vera juice which is great for moisturizing hair. The spray is really light and resembles water. It also has a great smell to it,that smells like some sort of herb. I've been using this for the past month at anytime of day. It does not make my hair feel dry or sticky as the product dries. Overall,I give this product a 5 out of 5 stars because it is a great, quick way to moisturize your hair.It is also is all natural and organic. Aloe vera was a great asset.

Hydrate and strengthen the hair by adding shine.
What it contains:
Argan oil
Uses:
This product can be used on wet or dry hair and applied in sections.
My Review:
I've only used two different serums in my journey, this being one of them. I used this product on my twist to keep them from becoming frizzy during the week and I also used it on my twistout. I do smell the argan oil in this product, but it isn't overpowering what so ever. It is also very thin and light weight which is great for someone who has thinner strands. On the other hand my hair is very thick so I needed a few pumps of this product to coat my hair. Since my hair is naturally frizzy, the frizz was not totally gone, but I did see a huge difference in the way my hair behaved. It wasn't all over the place. Overall, I give this product a 4 out of 5 simply because I have very thick hair and I think that it would work a lot better on those with thinner hair.

What it claims to do:
Repair and strengthen the hair follicle. Moisturizes and nourishes the hair.
What it contains:
Water, Cetyl alcohol (a fatty alcohol that creates softness), Olea Europaea (Olive) fruit oil, Cetrimonium chloride, Cetearyl alcohol, Persea gratissima (Avacado) oil, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl acetate, Panthenol, Olea europaea (Olive) leaf extract, Myrtus communis oil, Fragrance, Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate
Uses:
Used as a deep conditioner and can be left on the hair for 5 to 20 minutes.
My Review:
One thing I didn't expect when I received this product was for it to be so big. I expected quite a small jar, but the one I got contained plenty of product. The texture of the product reminds me of a thick cream that smells like mint and olives mixed together. I washed and conditioned then added this to my hair as a deep conditioner. I applied a generous amount, enough to cover all of my strands. I covered my hair with a plastic shower cap and let it sit on for about 30 minutes. I will say that this product does have lots of slip to it which is great. Soon after I rinsed the conditioner out I noticed immediately that my curls were very defined! My hair was also very soft. I will definitely be using this a my deep conditioner from now on. Overall I definitely give this product a 5 out of 5 because I never seen my curls as defined as they were.

Will your kinky, curLLy, coarse hair need detangling? Need sheen? Need to get it ready for your next style between washes? Look no further than whiPPed shea! This product is an everyday, must have.
What it contains:
Shea Butter, Safflower oil, Castor oil, and Organic raw honey
Uses:
For braid wearers, use often on your hair and scalp to help hair grow damage free.
I loved this product. I have been looking for a butter to put either on my scalp or to twist with. A lot of the products in my hair regimen contain protein, which is okay but I also need a moisturizing product. The product has a very smooth texture that reminds me of cake icing, but it also is heavy enough to use on really thick hair. It smells like Shea and Coco butter mixed. I used it to twist with and they came out incredibly soft with no residue. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5 and would definitely purchase this product.
Herbal Tea Hair Spray:
![]() |
| curllynaptress.com |
What it claims to do:
An all natural herbal remedy for natural hair? Um, yes. We could talk all day about this herbal hair spray's benefits. I'd start with the chamomile that prevents dandruff and soothes scalp irritation. Then we'd mention the lavender herbs that condition hair. Just when I brought up the aloe vera that provides softness and shine, you'd be sold.
Mixed with essential oils and distilled water
Uses:
The herbal hair spray can be used daily to freshen your hair styles...and your scalp.
This product smells exactly like Lipton lemon tea, which I love. Seems like a little bit of lemon and honey. I used this product to seal in the moisture of the Whipped Shea product. It also is a great product to use when detangling. With the combination of those two products, they leave your hair very soft and shiny. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5 because it really protected my scalp from irritation and dryness. Great for those who have dry scalp.

Uses:
Use the lotion daily to get rid of frizz or you can detangle those tresses prior to a shampoo treatment. It is also valuable for protective styles like braids.
What it contains:
Castor oil, Almond oil, Coconut oil, Vitamin E and Essential oils.
My Review:This product was a definitely a new one for me. I haven't used a hair lotion in years. The last time I used one I was relaxed. Hair lotions always seem to have other hidden ingredients that I do not feel are healthy for hair. This lotion has all of the ingredients that I trust. It has a thick texture but when applied to the hair it absorbs really well without leaving your hair coated. It has that lemon and honey smell just as the other two products. I used this product as a moisturizer especially for my ends. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5. I haven't experienced any problems and I recommend it for medium to thick hair.
All of these products are priced at $8 and under which is a great price for the quality. If you are intrested in buying any of thes products, Darice can be contacted on Twitter @CurllyNAPtress and on her site Curllynaptress.com
Hey Curlies!
I am here to talk about the Shea Moisture Transitioning Kit. The kit contains:
- Moisture Retention Shampoo
- Restorative Conditioner
- Strengthener
- Deep Treatment Masque
The purpose of this kit is to help transitioners deal with breakage, split ends and moisture retention. I wish I had known about this when I was transitioning. This product is made specifically for individuals who have both natural new growth and chemically relaxed hair.
Each product contains:
- Organic raw Shea butter
- Argan Oil
- Sea Kelp
- Avocado Oil
Where to find this product?
I've seen this product at most Walgreens and Target Stores. The usual price runs about $15 but I've seen it on sale at Walgreens for $15 dollars from time to time. You are able to purchase in stores and online.

Hey Curlies!
I used Organic Root Simulator Hair Mayonnaise a lot of the time during my transitioning stage but it also works GREAT for all natural hair. For transitioners, this product is really good because you can experience a lot of breakage and replenishing moisture is the key. My first impression of it, was awkward, because it was orange and it was called mayonnaise lol. Despite these things, my Mother said someone had told her that it keeps your hair moisturized for days. I bought this at Walmart for about seven or eight dollars and it was worth the money.
This conditioner has many essential oils in it such as olive oil. If you have damaged hair this product is a good one to start off with. I usually use it as a deep conditioner with a plastic cap. I'll apply generous amounts of this product to various sections of my hair and leave on for more than an hour. Sometimes I even go crazy with it and use almost half the jar when I need a pick me up :)
If you have been thinking about buying this product I say give it a try!

Hey Curlies!
Last night after taking down my Kinky Twist that had been in for almost 3 months. I washed and conditioned my hair but I also did a deep conditioning treatment. I bought this product about a month ago when Walgreens had a buy one get one 50% off sale. I had read some mixed reviews on it and just wanted to try it out for myself. Here were my steps.
1. Soon after rinsing out my conditioner, I applied this product to wet hair. I grabbed about 4 silver dollar sized amounts each time.
2. First I applied some on my edges and worked my way to the middle. I immediately noticed that the masque was sort of hard and for some reason I thought it would be more like whipped Shea Butter.
3. After covering my whole head I applied a clear shower cap and let it sit on for about 2 1/2 hours. I rinsed and my hair felt WONDERFULLY SOFT!
All in all, I would recommend this product to anyone who is having problems with dryness.

I still have in my twist and I will probably remove them in the next 3 weeks. Most days I simply just throw them back in a ponytail because it has been SUPER HOT. While completing my ponytail I use Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel. While I find that it really has no sort of hold, like other gels, it does leave my twist and edges feeling very soft and moisturized.
Aloe Vera has been known to soothe and moisturize skin. When I use this product, I put about a quarter size amount into my palms, rub it together and rub it on my twist directly. This especially helps now that my twist are a bit more frizzier than when I first got them done. Try some! :)
You can also buy a smaller version of this if you just want to try it. You can find this product at most beauty supply stores, Wal-Mart, Target, CVS or Walgreens. The bottle cost about $7 to $8, while the pack cost about $2-$3.
Earlier this week I deep conditioned with a new conditioner called Palmer's Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Protein Pack. I purchased this pack from Wal-mart for about $2 in the "ethnic" hair care section.
What the product claims: It is more intensive treatment than their regular deep conditioning pack. It repairs damaged hair and strengthens hair from root to tip. (More info) My Review: I give it 4 out of 5 stars! I applied the entire pack to my hair and let it sit under a plastic cap and towel for about 2 hours. I got sort of distracted by HGTV, so that's why I kind of forgot about it. I haven't did any sort of protein treatment in a while so I figure why not. My hair came out very soft! If your hair needs a little winter time "pick me up" try this product. @Classycurlies
A few days go I used this product as a a pre-shampoo treatment. What the product claims to do: The ingredients it contains:
and many more wonderful ingredients! See the full list at here.
My thoughts:
I really like the smell. For the last couple of days I've been trying to find a smell to relate to it, but I can't. It sort of has a lemon, mint smell. I will say that as soon as you open up this product, the smell will hit you. One thing that I was surprised with was the texture. For some reason I expected it to be thicker, similar to the smoothie and deep treatment masque, but it was the exact opposite. The texture was really thin and water-like almost.
I wet my hair and then applied the product to my scalp and hair, then let it sit with a plastic cap for about an hour. Soon after I rinsed I found my hair to be very clean. I normally do not experience a flaky scalp, but because of the cold weather, my scalp was very dry with buildup. Everything of that such was gone and I was left with clean, soft hair.
Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5. It got the job done. My hair was clean, soft and moisturized. If you have problems with you scalp, such as it being too dry or flaky, this product may be for you. Especially during the winter months.
What it claims to do: "This new lightweight, silicone-free conditioner uses natural ingredients to hydrate hair, giving you the moisture you need and the natural benefits you love." -located on the TRESemme site. This conditioner also contains USDA certified organic extracts from Aloe Vera and Avocados. It's also hypoallergenic and dye-free. What I think: I really like this product. The first thing that reeled me in was the smell. It smells great. I washed my hair with actual shampoo for the first time in more than a month, so afterward, I used this product. It has a really good slip to it and is thick enough to coat the hair. I only left it on for about 5 minutes. It left my hair very soft and smooth as I was rinsing it out. Bottom Line: Try it Last week I went home to visit my family and I saw that my Mom purchased a couple of Shea Moisture products that I currently do not have. I wanted to try them out for myself.
Before we get into the review, here are a few pictures of my hair after I fully detangled my hair and before I washed. I actually went three weeks without washing my hair, and remind me to never do that again. My hair was filthy. From now on, every two weeks it is.

African Black Soap Deep Cleansing Shampoo
What it contains:
Willow Bark extract, African Black Soap, Tea Tree oil, Plantian enzymes, Sugar Beets, Neem oil, Shea, Jojoba oil, Aloe Vera Juice, Vitamin E and many other great ingredients. See thee full listhere.
What it Claims to do:
This shampoo claims to relieve itching and flaking while cleansing your scalp. It also treats dandruff, psoriasis and eczema.
My review:
If you have ever tried Shea Moisture's Purification Masque, it smells exactly like that product. If you haven't tried it, this product smells like lemongrass mixed with bananas and mint. It may smell different to every person but I like the smell. For me it took a while for it to suds up, but that was because I didn't run it under the water long enough. I will say that this is a thick shampoo, and does the job. I only washed once and my hair was very clean. I've used some shampoos where after you pour some into your hand, it slides all over the place and it's hard to transfer it from your hand to your hair. Overall, I give it a 5 out of 5
Yucca & Baobab Volumizing Conditioner
What it contains:
Coconut oil, Shea butter, mango seed oil, Avocado oil, Aloe, Soybean oil, Biotin, and many others. See full list here.
What it claims to do:
Strengthen and detangle hair while creating overall healthy hair
My review:
This line of products is made for people with fine and thin hair, and I have neither so I can't give you perfect results but I can tell you a little to help you out. Since it is a conditioner, it is in a cream form. I used lots of this product on my hair because I have a lot of hair. I then began to section off my hair and used a wide tooth comb to work the product through. This product works great as a detangler. I was instantly tangle free. If you are looking for a detangler, look no further. Overall 5 out of 5 just because it works wonderfully as a detangler.
In the past, I've posted a ClassyCurls Profile feature on a wonderful person named Victoria (love her name!) who owns her own hair and skin care line. He products contain certified USDA organic shea butter and other natural oils. To view her featured profile, click here.
About a month ago, she sent me a couple of free samples because I was interested in reviewing them. The two products that I will be reviewing are the Mango Conditioner and the Tea Tree Shampoo. Mango Conditioner
What it contains:
Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (Plant Derived), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Panthenol, Silk Amino Acids, Disodium EDTA, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Oil, Triethanolamine.
What it claims to do:
A rich, creamy conditioner ideal for normal or thick hair. This intensive, daily conditioner detangles and hydrates the hair with our 100% USDA Certified Organic Shea butter from roots to ends. Naturally Hypoallergenic, it helps to restore manageability and protect hair from harsh elements like heat, cold, and over processing, leaving hair silky smooth, soft and luxuriant. Lightly scented with a hint of tropical Mango essential oil ( From the NouriShea.com website)
My review:
This product is for definitely for those who have very thick hair but it also works for those who have normal hair. When the product is applied to your hair you can smell the mango. For those who adore mangoes, you'll have a party with this. The texture is sort of like a lotion but doesn't have tons of slip as some lotions have. I do really like this product as a detangler. I applied the product after shampooing and let it sit on my hair for about five minutes before rinsing. Using a wide tooth comb, I detangled my hair with ease. I give this product a 4 out of 5. This won't be a waste of your money!
Tea Tree Shampoo

What it claims to do:
This rich herbal-based shampoo has been specially formulated for irritated, flaky scalp. Made with our 100% USDA Certified Organic Shea Butter, Vitamin E and essential oils including Tea Tree Oil—a natural antibacterial / antifungal agent—this natural shampoo will gently cleanse hair while helping to calm irritated, flaky scalp. Ideal for everyday use or for when you need that extra clean, tingling feel. (From the NouriShea.com site)
My review:
Tea Tree oil is used to treat dry and itchy scalp, so to combine this essential oil into a shampoo is great. I really liked the Tea Tree smell, and it was not overpowering. It does lather really nicely.Usually, most shampoos leave my hair really matted and brittle. With this shampoo I did not experience any of that. When I rinsed, the product left my hair soft and shiny. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5.
