Great Things are in the Works

Hey Curlies,

I hope everyone's week is going fabulous. Up until this point, my week has been pretty busy. Although I was off on Monday, once I got back to work our deadlines were pretty tight (I'm the newsroom manager at a media company in Indianapolis that houses a newspaper and magazine) but once everything was done, I could breathe... a little.

Cohosting a radio show where I was
speaking on the importance of voting and the
presidential election.
Outside of writing and assigning stories for the two publications, I help manage their social media pages, cohost our weekly radio show, attend community events and so forth.

Personally, I'm in the middle of continuing to discover things that make me happy. From previous experiences within the last few months, I've learned happiness is a high priority in my life at the moment.

My coworker and friend Ebony at a fashion show during
the weekend of the Indy 500.
I have so many things I want to accomplish both in my professional and personal life and I want to do that all through a calm mind and happiness.

I have a few things in the works that I'm hoping to share with you all within the next month. Some big plans I have for myself and this platform as well.

There are many times I get home late from writing and staring all day at a computer, that the last thing I want to do is complete those same acts in my own home to blog. Oddly enough, I find myself doing it anyway because I absolutely adore this blog and platform I have. I love interacting with you all online and even those who I get to meet in person. This blog is what truly makes me happy. I sometimes tell myself I'm only going to spend X amount of time working on it, although I'm tired, and then find that hours have went by because I'm so passionate about it.

Ladies...and gents (if any are reading), find something you feel passionate about. Find something that (one of my favorite memes) makes your face light up the same way it does when you see the server bringing your food to the table. (haha...I love it!)

But seriously, find something that doesn't feel like a chore...whatever that may be and hold on to it. Positive thoughts lead to positive actions.

I have some great things in the works...stay tuned!
