Natural Hair: Twistout using flax seed gel

Hey Curlies,

How I use flax seed gel for a great twistout:

Let me just start off by saying, I LOVE flax seed gel (tutorial here)! Not only are the seeds rich in omega-3's and healthy for body, the gel creates the BEST twistouts. I decided to make a new batch of gel on Sunday because I wanted to wear a twist out.

I washed my hair using Shea Moisture's Jamaican Black Castor Oil shampoo and deep conditioned with Eden Body Works Jojoba Moni Deep Conditioner. My hair had been extremely dry the last week and I think it has a lot to do with the weather changing. The spring and summer-like weather is returning, which usually means a shift of products.

The conditioner really helped bring my hair back to life! It was soft, moisturized and a little easier to manage.

I created about 12-15 twists in my hair and pinned them in this style for about four days before I untwisted.

Natural Hair: Defined Braidout

Hey Curlies,

How I achieved a defined braidout:

I've been wearing my hair in a puff for almost two weeks! Ugh..I know right? I finally got a chance to wash my hair and give it a little TLC.

I washed using Shea Moisture's Jamaican Black Castor Oil shampoo and deep conditioned with Mill Creek Bontanicals Aloe Vera conditioner (check your local Marshalls or TJ Maxx). This conditioner is really becoming one of my favorites.
