I have a short, but humorous story to share with you! A couple of weeks ago I went to visit my family back in my hometown and my grandmother was there as well.
In 2011 when I did the big chop, I seen my grandmother and she was not happy! She criticized me about how horrible my hair looked and continued to ask if I was going to straighten it. For all of the details, click here.
Two years later, I see her and my hair looked just like this:
Literally, when she walked in the door she did a double take. She continued to stare at me and I couldn't figure out why. She said things like
- "Oh my God. Look at your hair, it looks so good!"
- "Is that all of your hair?"
- "You did your own hair?"
Before I answered I turned to look at my Mom because I knew we were thinking the same thing. Wasn't this just the woman who hated my hair and made smart remarks left and right?
I just laughed it off and said "Yes" and walked away. In my head it played out like this...
