Natural Hair Care: Trimming My Hair

Hey Curlies,

I noticed when I began my mini twists that I had a few scraggly ends so I said that once I took the twists down that I would do an official trim. I also noticed a few single strand knots which were driving me crazy!

I only trim my hair about 3xs a year and the last time I trimmed my hair was back in February or March of this year. The next time I'll probably do a trim will be in September or October.

Using hair shears, I divided my hair into a front section and a back section:

I twisted the front section into medium sized twists using African Pride's Shea Butter Miracle Butter Creme.
From there I snipped off about 1/2 inch from each twist. I then separated the back section into about 8 medium sized twists. I spritzed my hair lightly with my aloe vera juice mix and began twisting. I also trimmed off about 1/2 from each twist.
This is the hair from the entire back section of my hair. As you can see, this was just a trim and not a cut.
Here are the hair shears that I used. They were purchased at Walmart at about $8.
Results: nice and clean ends
