Product Review: As I Am Coconut Cowash

Hey Curlies,

I received this product in my monthly Curlkit about two months ago and I finally got a chance to try it. I had already tried the As I Am Smoothing Gel and liked it so I was excited about this product.

What it Contains:
Aqueous (Water, Aqua Purificada, Purified) Extracts: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) and Citrus Reticulata (Tangerine)¹, Cetyl Alcohol², Cetrimonium Chloride, Cetearyl Alcohol², PEG-40 Castor Oil, Stearlkonium chloride, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil², Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil¹, Phytosterols¹, Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract¹, Quaternium-18, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrance/Parfum, Limonene, Methylisothiazolinone. Source: 1-Natural, 2-Coconut

What it claims to do:
Cleanse hair without the use of silicones, sulfates, parabens, proteins, and glycerin.

Uses:
To cleanse hair

My Review:
I have to admit, I was a little afraid at first. I've cowashed before using regular conditioner, but my hair has never felt as "clean" as I would have liked it to be. I applied this product to soaking wet hair and it acts as more of a cream than anything else. I rubbed some on my actual hair and massaged my scalp with it. It smells of coconut like the title says and really did cleanse my hair and scalp. I actually would prefer to use this product over sulfate-free shampoo. It left my hair very soft and moisturized.

My only small complaint was that the product comes in a jar. This packaging made it a bit harder for me to gather in my hands and distribute onto my hair. Overall I give this a 5 out out 5, definitely one of my favorites.
