Natural Hair:D.I.Y Deep Conditioner

Hey Curlies,

In combination with a recent post about creating your own spray bottle mix, I also would like to share tips on  creating your own deep conditioner. This saves lots of money and time. There are many different combinations that you could come up with, but here are a few good ones to try.

A blender or mixer is needed

Avocado Mask: Shine and Softness

-1 or 2 avocados, depending on hair thickness
-2 tablespoons of honey
-Oil of your choice

How to..

Cut the avocado(s) in half and remove the middle(brown). Add them to your mixing bowl or blender. Add 2 tablespoons of honey as well as 2 tablespoons of the oil of your choice. Blend until smooth. Apply to your hair wet or dry for about 30 minutes. Results: Shiny, soft hair.

Hair Mayonnaise: Protein

-1 1/2 cup of pure mayonnaise (not miracle whip)
-2 tablespoons of  extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
-2 Egg yolks
-Microwave safe bowl

How to...

Put 1 1/2 cup of mayonnaise into a bowl. Add both olive oil and egg yolks. Blend the mix until the eggs have become smooth. Heat the mix in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Apply the conditioner for about 30 minutes. Results: Strong and soft hair.

Moisture Mix: Moisture Retention

-1/4 cup of EVOO
-1/4 cup of honey

Combine EVOO, honey and banana together. Apply to hair for 30 minutes. Results: Moisturized hair.
