Best Tools for Detangling Curly Hair

I hear all the time that one of the reasons many people become frustrated with their natural hair texture is because of how it tangles.

A woman once told me that it takes her about 2 hours to detangle after a wash, which sounds crazy! Detangling your hair can be a breeze if you have the right tools and a little bit of patience.

Wide-toothed combs are a natural girls' best friend. This tool should be used first before anything else. A comb with wider teeth will not pull out your hair as much as a smaller one.

It is best to invest in a good quality comb. You can find these at your local Walmart, Target and other drug stores.

Before you purchase, be sure that the comb doesn't have any defaults. Meaning, some combs have a plastic part in between where the teeth can be found (this is where the comb has been molded together).

Always remember to begin detangling the ends first and work your way up. If done the opposite, you will be left with tons of breakage and a sore head to match.
