I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I've been getting a lot of questions and seeing a lot of forum post about hair growth. Ladies are wondering "why isn't my hair growing?"
Actually, your hair is growing. Your hair may not grow as fast as another person's but it is growing. We (yes, me too) are always comparing ourselves to others, in body shape, size and hair too. That's actually not necessary. Here are a few reasons why you may think that your hair isn't growing.
Your hair is breaking faster than it is growing. On average, hair grows about 1/2 and inch a month. If you manipulate your hair enough, it will break. This can be caused by too much heat being put onto the strands, rough handling or friction. Since we are currently in the colder months of the year, we all are wearing coats and scarfs. These items may rub against your hair or the neck area and cause hair breakage.
Don't be the helicopter mom. Are you doing length checks every day or every other day? A watched pot never boils. Find other things to consume your time. I know we are all excited about healthy, long hair but we can't watch it every second of the day. Ultimately you will compare day to day and eventually become disappointed when you haven't seen a change in the last 2 days.
Are you a chronic snipper? What I mean by that is, do you trim your ends every week to stay on track? This is also not necessary. I usually trim my ends every 6-8 weeks, but it really depends on the person. Don't do unnecessary trims.
