Got dry hair and scalp?? Well during my transition, I discovered a wonderful method at curing these both- hot oil treatments! This method leaves hair soft and moisturized for days. It's sort of like the prepoo method but with the oil warmed.
You can buy these treatments from most beauty supply stores. They always may not look like the one pictured, they can also come in bottles. You can just essentially buy any oil and do this process.
You will need a short container or cup to put the hot water in. I usually just use a small Glad container and fill it about half way up and warm it in the microwave for about a minute to a minute and thirty. I've found that anything longer is WAY TOO HOT for your scalp.
Soon after the water has been warmed, set the tube of oil in the water for about 5-10 minutes.
This method works best when it is applied directly to the scalp. You can part your hair into how ever many sections you desire and apply about half of the oil to the scalp and the other to the hair.
Sometimes I apply the deep conditioner on top but it just depends on the day. Either way after you should apply a plastic cap to trap in the heat.
I usually leave mine on for about 30 minutes or more. It really helps during the cold months.
BTW: It's 11.11.11. What did you wish for????
